Alwarpet

Alwarpet sits just beside Nungambakkam and shares much of its upscale, established character, with a dense mix of independent houses and apartments along leafy streets close to the Adyar river. It’s a popular venue location for smaller receptions and housewarming functions, and caterers here are accustomed to working within compact home kitchens and apartment-complex event spaces rather than large banquet halls. North Indian buffet service and South Indian traditional menus are both well represented, with several caterers offering hybrid menus that blend the two for mixed-family celebrations. Alwarpet’s popularity as a venue for smaller, higher-touch events has also encouraged a number of local caterers to specialise in plated, sit-down service rather than the buffet-style catering more common elsewhere in the city.
