This is a starting-point draft, not legal advice. Have it reviewed by a lawyer familiar with the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 before you rely on it.
1. Our role
Saffron is a marketplace that connects customers with independent, third-party catering businesses (“Caterers”). We are not the caterer of record for any event — the contract for catering services is between you and the Caterer you book.
2. Quotes and bookings
Quotes provided by Caterers are estimates based on the details you submit. Final pricing may be confirmed by the Caterer before booking. A booking is confirmed only once payment has been completed through our checkout.
3. Payments
Payments are processed securely via Razorpay. Saffron may hold payment in escrow-style milestones as agreed with the Caterer, and released according to the booking’s payment schedule.
4. Cancellations & refunds
Cancellation policies are set individually by each Caterer and shown before you confirm payment. Saffron will assist in resolving disputes but is not responsible for a Caterer’s service delivery.
5. Caterer obligations
Caterers listed on Saffron are required to hold valid food safety licensing (e.g. FSSAI registration) applicable to their business and jurisdiction.
6. Reviews
Reviews must reflect a genuine booking experience. Saffron reserves the right to remove reviews that violate this or our community guidelines.
7. Limitation of liability
Saffron facilitates introductions and payments between customers and Caterers but is not liable for the quality, safety, or delivery of catering services provided by third-party Caterers.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India.
